1. The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s
Running now through August 20
The 1920’s marks the epitome of the jazz era, and this musical aesthetic influenced art, fashion, architecture and film. Stop by this exhibit to see and feel how Americans lived in style during this time.

Freaky? Yes… but also PRETTY cool. This exhibit features rarely seen mummies from ancient Egypt and pre-Columbian Peru. Complete with interactive tables and high-resolution CT scans, visitors of all ages will have a unique opportunity to see inside the mummies and learn more about their former lives.
3. Eloise at the Museum
Running now through October 9
Celebrate the sassy charm of Eloise, a picture book superstar who has been around for over 60 years! This exhibition will highlight original objects including manuscript pages, sketchbooks, photographs, and vintage dolls. Visitors can even get a glimpse into Eloise’s world with evocations of the grand lobby of the Plaza Hotel, her bedroom, and her bubbly “bawthroom.” This would be the perfect activity for a mother and child afternoon date.

Dale Chihuly displays, with his colorful blown-glass creations, are always sure to dazzle. The NYBG is a beautiful setting to nest 20 vibrant, sensory-filled installations. Stop by the Garden on a cool afternoon or wait until the crisper autumn temperatures, as this exhibit will be around for a few more months!
5. Rendering the Unthinkable: Artists Respond to 9/11
Artists are honoring the lives lost on September 11, with mixed-media works including paintings, sculpture, music and video. Make a day out of a visit to the memorial and and some art viewing, and look for works from familiar faces, including the Blue Man Group.
