5 Things We Learned at the New York Botanical Gardens Orchid Show

We visited the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx this weekend to view the annual spring Orchid Show. There were so many beautiful orchids to see and things to learn! Here are 5 of the most amazing things we learned about this unique flower species.
1. There are currently more than 25,000 different species of orchids documented.

2. Orchids have bilateral symmetry, which means they are vertically symmetrical.

3. The smallest orchid plant is the size of a thumbnail.

4. There are orchids of every color except black.
